Amex Centurion Lounge Amsterdam Schiphol Airport Opens, With Barista Coffee Bar!
The brand new Amex Centurion Lounge at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) is opening tomorrow, and that’s an exciting development. The lounge was first announced last July, and it’s a great addition to the Amex Centurion Lounge network. While this looks like a beautiful facility, the catch is that it’s quite small.
Amex Centurion Lounge Amsterdam details
On Thursday, September 17, 2026, we’ll see the opening of the new Amex Centurion Lounge Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. This is the 33rd Amex Centurion Lounge globally, the first Centurion Lounge in continental Europe, and the first proprietary lounge from a global credit card company at Europe’s fourth busiest airport.
The Amex Centurion Lounge Amsterdam is located between Concourse E & F, putting it in the non-Schengen area of the airport. It’s open daily from 6AM until 9:30PM. The lounge spans roughly 6,000 square feet, so it’s on the smaller side. Highlights of the new lounge include the following:
- The Amex Centurion Lounge Amsterdam has floor-to-ceiling windows, and a locally inspired design, with a rich palette of blues, greens, and earth tones, plus a collection of works from local artists
- The Amex Centurion Lounge Amsterdam seating options include armchairs, cafe tables, high-tops, booths, quiet workspaces, and group seating, with power and USB access through much of the space
- The Amex Centurion Lounge Amsterdam has a Blue Roast Coffee Bar inspired by Amsterdam’s coffee culture, offering barista and locally sourced coffee; this marks the fourth Centurion Lounge location with barista coffee
- The Amex Centurion Lounge Amsterdam has a full bar with beer and cocktails, and a buffet with seasonally and locally inspired Dutch and regional European flavors
- The Amex Centurion Lounge has private restrooms and a phone booth, but doesn’t have showers

The Centurion Lounge looks nice but will be crowded
In general, I find lounges run by credit card companies to be most impressive in the United States. That’s for two reasons:
- Within the United States, even elite members and first class passengers often don’t have lounge access, while lounge access is a standard perk for those traveling on international itineraries
- Credit card lounges are typically better than “standard” lounges run by US airlines, so they have a big advantage there, while outside the United States, they’re often not comparatively as exciting
For example, I love visiting the Chase Sapphire Lounge New York (LGA), since it’s by far the best lounge at the airport. However, I probably wouldn’t visit the Amex Centurion Lounge Hong Kong (HKG), if I could instead use the Cathay Pacific The Pier Business Lounge or the Qantas Lounge, for example.
Now, in the case of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, it’s not exactly an amazing airport when it comes to lounge quality, and the terminal is also really spread out. I suspect the Amex Centurion Lounge will be really competitive with what’s otherwise offered. I do think the flagship KLM Crown Lounge is great and impressive for its scale, but aside from that, this will probably be the next best option. I suspect the soft product will be a bit better than at the oneworld Lounge.
The issue, unfortunately, is the small size of this lounge. At just under 6,000 square feet, this is one of the smallest lounges in the network, and I imagine demand for the lounge will be huge. That’s not just the case because Schiphol is such a busy airport, but also due to its general lack of lounges.
The entire airport has just two Priority Pass lounges, which are Aspire branded. They’re consistently among the busiest Priority Pass lounges that you’ll find in Europe.
Bottom line
Tomorrow (September 17, 2026), the Amex Centurion Lounge Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is finally opening. It’s great to see the Centurion Lounge network expanding to the Netherlands, and the lounge looks very nice. However, its small size will be an issue, as it covers just 6,000 square feet.
